In addition to selecting your area of study,
you can choose from several programs:
English Language program: This intensive English as
a second language (ESL) and homestay
experience is designed to improve English
language skills. The program begins each
January and lasts one academic semester.
The program includes 15 to 20 credit hours
of intensive English language instruction.
Academic Semester program: This academic and homestay exchange experience is designed to offer academic
and career training courses in a variety
of subject areas. The program begins each
January and lasts for one academic semester
(approximately 16 weeks in length). The
academic load is 12 credit hours for the
semester (equivalent to about four courses).
Certificate Program: This program is designed to offer
academic and career training in a variety
of subject areas for an entire academic
year. The academic load is 12 credit hours
per semester.
Degree Program: This two-year Associate Degree and homestay experience is designed to provide career skills
for those who are returning home, while
also offering transferability of credits
to a USA four-year college or university. After the first academic
year living with a host family, students
live independently in apartments during
their second year. The program includes
a total of 64 credit hours of tuition.
Four Year College program: This program provides students who start in a ASIAMERICA college program, the opportunity to transfer
the academic coursework toward a four year
university. This is an extension of the
Degree program, so at the end of the four-year
college program students will have obtained
the Associate degree and the four-year college
degree. Students live with a host family
during the first academic year.
